PORTRAIT OF A PLACE - Project #1: The importance of this project is to make you more aware of space and location as more than simply incidental, neutral or circumstantial area for setting scenes.  Pay careful attention to the ENVIRONMENT you have chosen, such as

1) Physical details,

2) Spatial dimensions,

3) Quality of light,

4) Activity,

5) Evoke Rule of Thirds and recall the compositional examples shown in class.

6) Edit using Final Cut Pro X, Premiere Pro CC or Avid Media Composer editing software to edit your project.

7) All shots must be mounted on a tripod or other stable base (i.e. put the camera on the floor for an extremely low angle shot) and record with an HD video camera.

8) Utilize a variety of camera angles and focal distances/positions (wide, medium, cu, etc.).

9) Do not use zoom in or zoom out controls on any shots. Instead use dolly, sliding and trucking shots.

10) In addition, if you have access to a drone with a mounted 2K video camera you may use it for several shots, but not for the entire project.
